Drive to the Dingle Peninsula

30 August 2013

We drove from Killarney to the Dingle Peninsula. The Dingle Peninsula is in Southwest Ireland.

There are some wonderful, sights to see.

All of the street and informational signs are in English and the traditional Gaelic languages

A view across the pastures with a bay in the background

Happy cattle

The roads were quite narrow but usually very beautiful.
Now remember that, in Ireland, the vehicles are on the left side do the street.  When we might gawk too much, a another vehicle might come around the bend (going very fast). Naturally, in the beginning, our brains would scream "OH MY GOSH!, that car is driving on the wrong side of the street".  Then a split second later, reality hit and we stayed in our correct (left) lane.

We couldn't help but take a lot of photos
The pastures in the background look like they're separated by shrubs. Those are actually rock walls that have been there so long that the foliage has grown all, over it.  The walls are built with stones stacked with no mortar.  These walls are everywhere.

One of the narrow (2 way) roads.

A stop by a bay on our drive

Be careful for the jelly fish.

It seems that all of the cattle here are grass fed, healthy and happy.

Need yarn?
